CUBAN DANCE ENTERTAINMENT presents CARICIAS CUBANAS, a sensational mix of folkloric, traditional and current Cuban popular dances.

Are you interested in Cuban Dance and want a taste of the music and choreography? The following dances, performed at the CARICIAS CUBANAS dance show, portray the energy and spirit of Cuban Dance:

Havana Carnival

With thrilling moves, steps and dances the whole company (up to 12 dancers) joyously dressed in carnivalesque dresses and guaracheras recreate the sparkling atmosphere of the Havana Carnival. This dance includes two sets: "LA CHANCLETA", a folkloric Cuban tapping dance, and "LA CONGA", the dance used by Comparsas in street parades.

Casino

An advanced, modern and exciting Cuban Salsa in which Cuban lead dancers give us a matchless and totally unique selection of imaginative combinations with double turns never seen before, exceptional footwork and scintillating body movements.

Guaguanco

A fiery and electrifying Rumba interpreted in a way that only two Rumberos from Matanzas and Havana, the two places where two styles of the Rumba were created, can perform. This fast and sensual Cuban dance always captivates the audience.

Ensalada

A dazzling choreography featuring dances from the 50s (like the Mambo and Cha-cha-cha) and from the 60s (like the Mozambique, Pilon, and Dengue).

Guajira

A gorgeous seven minute choreographed re-creation of the countryside Cuban dances. Eight to ten dancers wear traditional Cuban sombreros, guayaberas and floral dresses and execute flashes of countryside dances like Zapateo, Sucu-Sucu and others, showing the sensual naivete and grace of the Cuban countrymen and women.

Timba

Timba is the lateset of the cuban rhythms in a choreography that mixes Casino, Salsa, Caribbean whinning and a lot of cool original moves which make this dance one of the more popular in our shows.

Rueda

A very cool and fascinating modern Cuban circular dance in which four to six couples dance to the Salsa beat synchronizing moves and turns, constantly changing partners and creating figures in a breathless display of Cuban Salsa virtuousity and glorious fun. The choreographic work by Armando for this dance makes the Rueda's presentation unique.
